Here is a (terrible) video that I made while exploring downtown Marigot in St. Martin.
I had a great time walking around and checking out the sites. First off I stop by a fresh juice stand and order a Mango juice. Oh boy was it delish!
Next, I walked past where the ferry docks and down to the private Marina. I went as far as I could to check out the boats but I could only get a little ways before I ran into a locked gate. Even from where I was able to access there were a whole bunch of really neat boats and even a catamaran.
After visiting the marina I walked along the opposite side of the road and went past (but not in) the shopping mall. I eventually reached a store that was advertising half off everything. They even had permanent signs advertising half off. I guess the tactic works but it sure seems like they were just trying to rip off the tourists.
Despite the above paragraph I did decide to visit this “half-off” store. In addition to advertising their big sale (lol) they also had a sign that informed me that they sold cuban cigars.
Being from the good ole USA, a Cuban cigar is a thing of wonder, much like a unicorn. I just knew that I had to buy one while I had the chance. Now mind you, I don’t smoke cigars so it was probably wasted on me. It taste fine I guess but really if you ask me it just tasted like a nasty ole’ cigar. Maybe someday someone will be able to teach me how to appreciate a fine cigar.
After I get my cigar I puff it slowly while walking home amongst the traffic. The views are absolutely beautiful with the stunning turquoise waters and the gorgeous blue skies above, how could anyone complain?
